New technology, Craft software, and digital commerce

A group of people with sparklers

2024 sparked exciting growth for Foster Commerce as we sought out new relationships, new software, and interesting conversations with leaders in B2B ecommerce.

We also spent time developing our own Craft CMS software and updating several plugins. And, of course, we had a wonderful time doing what we do best — fueling our clients’ successful digital transformations to support the growth of their online businesses!

New technology

Our most important decision as a team in 2024 was to expand our ecommece tech expertise! OroCommerce is a premier B2B ecommerce platform that allows us to better serve midsize and enterprise B2B customers ready for their digital transformation.

Adopting new tech was no small decision, especially since we remain die-hard Craft CMS fans. We explain why we've added OroCommerce to our tech stack so that those curious about our thinking can learn more.

New Craft software

Did our addition of OroCommerce mean we’re doing less with Craft? Not at all! This past year, we invested in our Craft software, completing and updating several plugins. We also released our ecommerce boilerplate, Commerce Foundations.

Loaded with our strong opinions about what makes a great ecommerce website, Commerce Foundations gives merchants a significant headstart on their ecommerce build. We’re thrilled to be able to offer an affordable option to merchants who require a custom website but want some of the advantages of a pre-built solution.

Conversations in B2B ecommerce

This past year we had several fun and interesting conversations for our Commerce Minded podcast, starting with hosting leaders in digital commerce. We covered various topics — from discussing digital project management superheroes to what makes digital marketing tick.

Stephen and Michael even made short videos that walked viewers through the OroCommerce experience.

Inspiration and pragmatism

Back in March, we introduced our newest team member, Ty Tudehope. Since then, Ty has been promoted to Head of Engineering, a role he has taken on with a blend of inspiration and pragmatism. Ty has played an integral role in shaping our team’s priorities, sharpening current processes, and fearlessly taking on new challenges.

Alongside our senior engineer, Michael Van Dorth, Ty attended several weeks of training to learn OroCommerce. He’s also been instrumental in developing complex features for clients. For example, read about the product configurator he created for Shade Love.

New builds for clients

Last but not least, we’re proud to have provided our strategic development services to several clients!

We wrote up a few customer success stories to highlight the amazing things that are possible when vision and tech align. Read their stories to see how these trailblazers were able to launch their ecommerce website, take control of their digital marketing, and jumpstart their digital transformation with us by their side.

We want to extend a special Thank you to our clients — it’s an honor to be a part of your digital transformation journey!

Here’s to a successful and happy new year
